Update: The man who filmed the incident says he has filed a police report against the driver.
Singapore drivers can be so frustrating sometimes.
A red car that missed an exit was filmed stopping to reverse in the middle of the bustling Braddell Road highway yesterday afternoon, affecting other drivers.
Dzulkarnean Mosbah, 42, was trying to photograph the skies from his office window at around 3pm when he saw the driver of the red car in action and decided to capture it on his phone. The whole incident took more than five minutes, he said.
“Initially I was amused that he or she was determined to reverse. But I was worried [about] any serious accidents,” the property officer said today. Dzulkarnean said that he did not immediately report the incident to the authorities since he could not get a clear shot of its license plate number. He filed a police complaint after this story was published, he said.
The 47-second timelapse video posted to Facebook has been shared more than 7,000 times.
The clip showed the vehicle attempting to get off the road that was leading towards Lornie Highway by stopping and then inching backwards, forcing other vehicles to switch lanes and one cargo truck to stop in the middle of the road until the car was done leaving.
Many reacted to the video in rage and filled the comments with insults.
“Not a joke, it’s [a] moron, Brainless, selfish driver! Why the driver can’t go further down to make a uturn to avoid [an] accident,” Elf Wu wrote.
“This is so dangerous to the driver and others. Should be [fined] heavily and licence suspended,” Minsky AT wrote.
