Seems like the authorities have made some progress in the case of the Dhoby Ghaut doll. (You know, the one commuters spotted at Dhoby Ghaut MRT station’s underground tunnel.) And by ‘some progress’, we mean ‘none’.

In a statement by Minister for Transport Khaw Boon Wan, investigations into the case of the unusual and creepy doll discovered on the ledge of the MRT tracks yielded no evidence of any form of security breach. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) and the police reviewed closed-circuit television footage and physically checked possible track access points before coming to the conclusion.

According to The Straits Times, Khaw suggested: “One possible explanation is that the doll was accidentally dropped by a commuter through the platform gap, and then picked up and placed on the tunnel wall by a worker”.

Say what you will, but it’s unlikely a doll that size can squeeze through the platform gap. And while we’d like to avoid dampening this already-wet Tuesday with weird and creepy thoughts, anyone else getting Annabelle vibes?
