After more than three days since young Steward Lee Goon Hong was last seen, his family faced grim news of his death yesterday evening.
The body of the 27-year-old was found on top of a multi-storey carpark, about a kilometre away from where he was last seen last Friday afternoon, according to Channel NewsAsia.
According to the police, they were alerted at 6.52pm yesterday to a case of a dead body found at a multi-storey carpark at 468A Segar Road. Preliminary investigations identified the deceased to be Steward Lee.
News of his death comes as a tragic end to the search for Lee — an incident that went viral on Facebook after his sister Yunqin Lee posted an alert for information concerning his disappearance.
Lee left home on Friday and left his phone behind. He failed to return home without notifying anyone, though he was last seen at Block 407 Fajar Road at 2pm that day.
Since he was known to be an avid hiker, a search party comprising of around 70 people scoured areas such as Bukit Timah Hill, Dairy Farm, Mandai, Zhenghua and the Rail Corridor on Sunday, but to no avail.
Police have since classified the case as an unnatural death. Investigations are ongoing.
