Tires were punctured and fitness routines were ruined after thumbtacks were found all over Yishun’s pavements recently.
Videos circulating online last night showed food delivery riders and passersby picking up handfuls of thumbtacks on the floors of pavements and park connectors in Yishun. It was alleged that the culprit must have purposely scattered them to mess with cyclists.
“Yesterday BLK 348 [Y]ishun PCN, ride safety and pls avoid. Suspect some anti cyclist who do that,” GrabFood rider Mar AttutuDe wrote yesterday.
The thumbtacks were first spotted on Monday. Photos showed several thumbtacks jammed into the tires of bicycles.
According to Facebook page Beh Chia Lor, about 30 riders had to change their punctured tires.
Police reports have been made and officers were seen investigating the case around the entire Yishun neighborhood.
