Everyone, freeze. An upcoming local production of the Broadway musical based on Disney’s critically acclaimed Frozen is looking for its Elsa and Anna in not-so-wintry Singapore.

Disney’s Frozen The Hit Broadway Musical, coming to Sands Theatre in Marina Bay Sands on Feb. 5 next year, is looking for child actors between 8 to 11 years old to star as Young Elsa and Young Anna.

According to the audition’s descriptions, requirements for Young Elsa include being 140cm to 142cm tall, aged between 9 to 11 years old, “bright,” “poised,” and “a perfect daughter.” Young Anna should be 125cm to 127cm tall, between 8 to 9 years old, “energetic” and “free-spirited.” Any child from “all cultural backgrounds” are welcomed.

Auditions take place on 8 and 9 October at the Sands Theatre in Marina Bay Sands from 8am. Submissions will close on 2 Oct. at 11:59pm.

Like the 2013 film, Elsa is the elder princess of Arendelle who gets locked up due to her icy magical powers while Anna is the free-spirited younger sister.

Singapore is the Broadway musical’s first stop in Southeast Asia. It previously opened on Broadway at the St. James Theatre in 2018.

Produced by Disney Theatrical Productions and presented by Base Entertainment Asia, the same people behind the 2019 Aladdin musical, Frozen will feature new music and lyrics, direction and choreography by Academy Award winners and Tony Award winners.

Tickets will go on sale Sept. 30 at 12pm for the general public.
