Singaporeans traveled to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong more than anywhere else this year, according to a report out today.

Thailand’s capital city was the destination most visited followed by the Malaysian capital and Hong Kong, according to travel site Expedia. It also noted that Singaporeans with families chose Margaret River, Australia, followed by Bali and Perth, Australia, as their favorite getaways.

When it comes to renting holiday homes, those families were more likely to hit Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, as well as Hokkaido, Japan. The most sought-after amenities when booking holiday homes were swimming pools, air-conditioning, Wi-Fi access, hot tubs and laundry facilities.

What do they do when they get there? Expedia said Singaporeans love going on tours and sightseeing while abroad, followed by visiting tourist attractions, doing water activities and going on cruises. So no shocking surprises, there.

The overall most popular attraction this year was a scenic tour in Melbourne called the Great Ocean Road Day Tour. It was followed by Disneyland Paris and Disneyland Hong Kong.

This year also saw some more adventurous Singaporeans visit less popular places such as Waikato, New Zealand, and Surabaya, Indonesia; destinations that might become mainstream hits next year.
