A strange, bloody scuffle that involved the usage of a nail clipper as a weapon left two Changi Hawker Village hawker centre patrons severely injured last Saturday night.

Police have since arrested a 38-year-old man for his rowdy behavior that lasted several hours at the popular dining venue. Shin Min Daily News also reported that he used the sharp edge of a nail clipper to injure two men.

Witnesses speaking to the publication noted that the arrested man had been harassing other patrons at the hawker centre — he was seen yelling at other people, spitting on the ground, throwing plates at children, and stealing food from random patrons. In other words, he was acting like the kind of person parents warn their children about.

Two patrons had been purchasing a meal with their family members at the hawker centre when they were annoyed at the man’s behavior, and tried to help him to a seat, according to a stall assistant who spoke to Shin Min.

The pair then told the man to stop causing trouble, but a scuffle soon erupted among them. It was then that the rowdy man whipped out a nail clipper and lunged at the two patrons. One of them suffered deep cuts to his arm, while the other suffered injuries to his thigh.

The injuries were bad enough to spray drops of blood on the floor of the hawker centre.

Police were alerted to the scene at around 7:40pm, reported The Straits Times, and they arrested the attacker, who was believed to be drunk at the time. One of the victims was reportedly conveyed to Changi General Hospital, but at least he and his companion managed to be heroes of the day. Kinda.
