Indeed, ’tis the season for two-wheelers versus trucks. Yet another truck’s side mirror got destroyed — this time by an angry motorcyclist. And yes, the truck driver reacted violently as well by trying to run over the rider.
A dash cam clip uploaded on the Roads.sg Facebook page depicted an altercation between the two aggro motorists along East Coast Road on Monday afternoon. It’s unclear what took place prior to the video, but the quarrel turned pretty ugly when the motorcyclist slammed the truck’s door shut before executing a high kick then sent the vehicle’s side mirror flying. The truck driver responded by trying to knock down the man with the vehicle but ended up crashing into a motorcycle (presumably his) instead.
In the midst of the altercation, another motorcyclist in a Deliveroo t-shirt tried to intervene and calm them down, but he too had to dart away when the truck lurched forward.
The incident comes less than two weeks since the massively viral traffic altercation between a cyclist and a truck driver in Pasir Ris. The truck driver had honked at a cyclist, who went mad and smashed the vehicle’s side mirror. The driver retaliated by swerving into the cyclist, knocking the man off the road. Both men were arrested — the driver for rash driving and the cyclist for rash riding and mischief.
