At evening peak hour yesterday, a car mounted the pavement at Tower 3 of Marina Bay Financial Centre (MBFC) and crashed into pedestrians, injuring four people. A male car passenger and three female pedestrians aged between 35 and 46 were taken conscious to the Singapore General Hospital, the police said. The 25-year-old driver was arrested for causing grievous hurt by a negligent act.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it got a call for assistance around 6:10pm in regards to a road traffic accident at the junction of Central Boulevard and Marina Way.

Photos and videos subsequently circulated on social media, showing a crowd gathering around what looked to be a red Mitsubishi Lancer and a collapsed bollard.

If convicted for causing grievous hurt by negligent act, the driver can face a maximum jail term of two years, or a fine of up to S$5,000, or both.

Investigations are ongoing.
