Raise your glasses to Singapore’s Atlas for becoming the best bar in Asia by retaining the eighth spot on this year’s prestigious World’s 50 Best Bars list revealed last night.
The bar, located in Gotham-worthy Parkview Square and known for its extensive gin selection, toppled Singapore watering hole Manhattan, which had been Asia’s top bar for three consecutive years.
Atlas debuted on the list when it opened in 2017, taking the No. 15 spot before climbing up seven ranks last year. Manhattan, which last year was ranked third in the world, dropped eight places to No. 11 this year. Manhattan, famed for its whiskey selection, is in the lobby of the Regent Singapore hotel.

Two new local entries making this year are Jigger & Pony (29th) and The Old Man Singapore (38th). The former is located at the Amara Hotel in Tanjong Pagar Road while the latter can be found on Keong Saik Road.
Amoy Street bar Native climbed one spot to No. 12, while Operation Dagger at Ann Siang Hill fell seven places to rank 30th.
Other bars in Asia to make the list include High Five in Tokyo (18th), Indulge Experimental Bistro in Taipei (21st), The SG Club in Tokyo (24th), Shanghai’s Speak Low (35th), Sober Company in Shanghai (45th), and Hong Kong’s Coa (49th).
The top three bars in the world are now New York’s Dante at No. 1, followed by London’s Connaught Bar and Buenos Aires’ Floreria Atlantico.
The World’s 50 Best Bars is an annual ranking based on votes by more than 500 “drinks experts,” according to its official site.
