Friday, Feb 16

CNY activities at wildlife parks

Usher in the Year of the Dog with majestic lion dance performances, festive bird shows, a Zoo-diac Trail, and festive animal enrichment sessions at Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari, Singapore Zoo, and River Safari.

Every weekend until Mar 2 at the four wildlife parks. Admission fees apply.

Harding on the Hill

If you’d like to escape from this year’s family visitations, stop by PS.Cafe in Dempsey for sweet beats, $10 beers and ciders, and plenty of wine.

River Hongbao

Marina Bay is lit up once again with colorful lantern displays, a food street, carnival games, getai performances, and 11 days of fireworks for the Chinese New Year festivities.

Rumble in the Jungle: Chinese New Year Edition

Chug down on jungle juice and party your ang bao money away at this wild rave on the 45th level of the Singapore Land Tower.

Until Feb 17; daily 5pm-late at Empire. Free entry before 10pm.

Spring Surprise

Activities at Gardens by the Bay this festive season include handicraft sessions, meet-and-greets with the God of Fortune, a morning yoga session with doggos, a movie screening on the lawn, and an ultraviolet light dragon and lion dance performance.

Until Feb 25 at Supertree Grove, Flower Dome, and The Canopy at Gardens by the Bay. Free.

 

Saturday, Feb 17

90s Boom Boom Party (Vol. 1)

Get your ’90s groove on and dance like no one’s watching to the nostalgic tunes of your teenage days.

10pm-late at HopHeads. Free.

Chinese New Year at Singapore Philatelic Museum

Check out what the stamp museum has to offer, with an exhibition all about dogs, a calligraphy demonstration, a Mandarin talk by a feng shui master, and a lion and dragon dance performance.

10am-7pm at Singapore Philatelic Museum. Free.

Istana Open House

Stroll across the Istana grounds on the second day of CNY and sign up for nature guided walks or tours of the main building.

8:30am-6pm at The Istana Grounds. Free for Singaporeans and PRs, foreigners $2.
