Friday, Feb 1

Human-Nature

This exhibition on design explores the nature of being human in a world where enhanced abilities are possible through technology, where humans co-exist with robots, machine learning, and big data.

i Light Singapore – Bicentennial Edition

The light art festival’s Bicentennial edition features over 20 programs and 33 installations around the Marina Bay, Civic District, Singapore River, and Fort Canning areas. Expect to see acoustic music acts, roving performances, movie screenings, guided tours, silent disco parties, and loads more.

Until Feb 24; daily 7:30pm-11pm with extended hours to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays at various locations around Marina Bay and the Civic District. Free.

Le Petit Chef 

Using 3D projection and storytelling, this culinary experience in a private dining room features animated character Le Petit Chef serving guests a four-course dinner, including dishes such as poached Maine lobster with baby asparagus, truffle aioli, and avruga caviar.

Until Feb 24; 6:30pm-9pm at La Brasserie, The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore. $188/person.

Singapore Express

The collaboration between street photographers Aik Beng Chia and Feng Li showcases observations of space and daily life.

Until Feb 9 at Deck gallery two and courtyard.

Toybox

Touted as Hasbro’s first multi-brand carnival in Asia, the family-friendly festival features super-sized toys from popular series such as Transformers, My Little Pony, Monopoly, Cluedo, and more. Spread across 4,800 sqm, the play areas include an oversized Super Claw game, an inflatable playground and ball pit, a Play-Doh picnic party, a “tudor mansion” inspired by Cluedo, and a My Little Pony Rainbow Kingdom.

World Snack Fair

Check out the extensive selection of snacks from 30 countries and load up on your favorites to stock the pantry for CNY.

Until Feb 3, 11am-9pm at Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre, L3. Free.

#Umamisounds

The music night features pop trio brb., electronica/R&B crooner Theodora, and rapper Nicco Homaili as a showcase of local talents.

7pm-9:30pm at Decline. Pre-sale $25, at the door $28; both include one beer.

 

Saturday, Feb 2

RuPaul’s Drag Race: Werq the World

The RuPaul’s Drag Race world tour debuts in Singapore with names like Asia O’Hara, Kameron Michaels, Detox, Kim Chi, Sharon Needles, and Violet Chachki gracing the stage.

8pm-10pm at Kallang Theatre. $108-$128.

Spring Surprise

In celebration of Chinese New Year, Gardens by the Bay is hosting all sorts of programs on its grassy grounds, from orchestra performances to lion dances.

Until Feb 10, various timings at Gardens by the Bay. Free; admission charges to Flower Dome applies.

Sven Vath

The techno legend lands on our shores for a night behind the decks with Maurizio Schmitz, so you can get the party started before CNY.
