Remember the situation at the first ever Artbox Singapore last year? The one that was overhyped and, as a result of insufficient space and poor planning, overcrowded with throngs of angry, sweaty hipster shoppers? Yep, that same “creative market” is bravely returning for a second edition in May.
But before you brush it off, there’s a silver lining. It seems like the organizers have learned their lesson — probably thanks in part to the hordes of frustrated festival-goers that voiced their disdain on social media — and expanded the event space from last year’s 50,000 sq ft to 140,000 sq ft. (That’s almost triple the size, in case you can’t math.)
So if you’d like to give the fairy-lit, atas pasar malam another shot and check out the usual art installations, booze and bites, music performances, and other cool stuff, mark your calendars for May 25 to 27 and June 1 to 3 to scout out the market, which sprawls across the entire Bayfront Event Space this time around.
Meanwhile, give your memory a jolt with this video below that makes it look like everyone had loads of fun at the “huge success” that was Artbox Singapore 2017.
Artbox Singapore 2018 is on from May 25-27 & June 1-3, 3pm-11pm at Bayfront Event Space.
