Fly sneakers, dope skateboard decks, sweet toys, and more will take over shopping slash youth community center Scape for two days next month when the Street Superior Festival returns to Singapore.

Happening Nov 2 and 3, this year’s lineup includes competitions and workshops on custom sneaker design, a toy convention featuring rare Star Wars collectibles, a yo-yo performance by a four-time world champion, and a highly coveted collection of Supreme skateboard decks.

Singaporean collector Ben Tan will show off in public for the first time his collection of about 350 decks, most of which were released by the famed streetwear brand between 1998 and 2018. They include exclusive designs produced in collaboration with renowned artists such as Damien Hirst, Kaws, and Jeff Koons, as well as one designed by Louis Vuitton.

Supreme’s decks are worth thousands now. In January, a teenager known as Carson Guo reportedly bought a complete set of 248 exclusive Supreme decks at a Sotheby’s online auction for a whopping US$800,000 — which is about S$1.1 million.

But if you’d rather connect with other like-minded sneakerheads from the region, those from Indonesia, Australia and Thailand will be in town to represent their communities, bringing locally made sneakers to the festival’s Asia Street Movement sneaker convention. Look out for well-known brands from Jakarta including Saint Barkley and Nah Project, as well as Australian shoemakers DJ DayDay and Chase Shiel, among others.

If toys are what you’re after, the Big Big Con will debut at this year’s festival, with offerings from Singapore’s own Pobbler Toys, Whale Rabbit and Daniel Yu, as well as Wetworks (Philippines), and Robin Tang (Taiwan). Rare, vintage Star Wars collectibles will also be sold.

The Street Superior Festival has come a long way since it was first established in 2013 as a one-day gathering of local sneaker enthusiasts. The event, known as Sole Superior then, has since expanded to incorporate more aspects of street culture and was renamed last year.

Tickets to the Street Superior Festival cost S$15 for one-day admission and S$20 for both days. The event runs from noon to 10pm on both days.
