Situated just next to Paya Lebar MRT station and Paya Lebar Square, the revamped SingPost Centre officially flung open its doors on Monday after two years of redevelopment. With five-storeys and double the retail space, the shopping mall houses mostly F&B concepts, with plenty of family-friendly brands.

Names on the directory include the usual ones, like NTUC FairPrice (with a new scan-and-go system that allows pre-registered customers to scan items while they shop), Kopitiam, and the new Golden Village Paya Lebar — the first all-laser cineplex in Singapore.

Besides those, look out for the return of popular bubble tea chain Gong Cha — as it sets up its flagship store in the mall — and Taiwanese hotpot chain Upot’s first overseas outlet. Other eateries and cafes include Seoul Yummy, Astons Specialties, Hawkerman, Maki-San, Wee Nam Kee Chicken Rice, Swensen’s, Carl’s Jr, and Chateraise.

Of course, since the mall’s called SingPost Centre, it’s also home to the new General Post Office, which is the largest in Singapore, reported Channel NewsAsia. Described by SingPost as its first smart post office, the space features a POPStation of 143 lockers and revamped SAM kiosks located in a 24-hour self-service section — so you can basically send registered mail anytime you want, without having to approach postal staff at the counter.

For those interested in a slice of history, you’ll be intrigued to know that the decor here includes elements from the former facility at the Fullerton. And even if you don’t have a package to send, you can still swing by to shop at the philatelic retail store, which offers the entire range of national stamps and other merch, or check out the heritage video wall that displays the evolution of SingPost over the years.
