Ed Sheeran fans in Singapore can now rest easy because the ginger-haired singer-songwriter and crooner of love songs has officially confirmed that his concerts here will go ahead as planned. A good thing too, because scores of his devoted fans ensured that both the Nov 11 and Nov 12 gigs sold out just hours after tickets were released back in May.

He had previously revealed on social media last week that he was in a bicycle accident, with injuries like a broken wrist, elbow, and rib.

In a statement released today by gig organizer AEG Presents, Sheeran explained that a follow-up visit to his doctors resulted in him being given the green light to perform from the Singapore shows onwards. That means he will begin his Asia tour on Nov 11 here, followed by stopovers in Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Mumbai, and Dubai.

But that also means fans in Osaka, Tokyo, and Manila will have to wait till next April to see the man perform as those shows have been rescheduled. But at least all the purchased tickets for his original shows will be valid for the new dates.

Unfortunately, his tour dates in Taipei, Seoul, Hong Kong, and Jakarta remain cancelled due to scheduling conflicts and limited venue availability in April 2018.

“I’m really gutted that not all the postponed dates could be rescheduled and I am working hard with my team to try and come back to these places as soon as I can to see all of you,” Sheeran said. “I’m sorry to everyone who has been affected by this.”
