‘Tis the season to get stuffed: A guide to Singapore’s tastiest Christmas offerings

Planning a Christmas gathering for the gang this year? We’ve put together a digest of the best of this year’s festive menus that are perfect for year-end parties, big or small. 

The Fullerton

The Fullerton Hotel is serving a slew of meals inspired by local favorites this Christmas, from Indonesian-style Turkey Penyet (smashed in Bahasa Indonesia) at S$201, to pandan-flavored Ondeh-Ondeh Lamington Yule Log Cake as well as a Strawberry Yule Log Cake infused with Bandung (Malay rose-flavored drink). 

Available through till Dec 30. 

Holiday Inn

If you’re craving spicy, lip-numbing Mala this Christmas, the Holiday Inn is serving a 6-kilogram Roasted Mala Spiced Turkey (S$128) with cilantro sauce and garlic fried rice. Their Yule Log Cake also comes in Chempedak (jackfruit, in Malay) flavor.

Fleur De Sel

Very few restaurants are serving duck this year, but if that’s what you’re after, you might want to check out the wholesome duck pie at French restaurant Fleur De Sel.

The 1.2-kilogram Duck Pithivier (S$135) can serve up to 10 and comes filled with duck breast, foie gras, mushrooms, spinach, and creamy black truffle.

Melt Cafe

One of Singapore’s most popular international buffet restaurants is cooking up a storm this holiday season with an extravagant European spread fit for a king or queen.

Melt Cafe chefs will be serving all sorts of meat dishes at their live stations only on Christmas Day, and that includes roasted turkey, wagyu striploin, crispy pork knuckle, lobster mentaiko (fish roe), and a whole tandoori lamb.

Marriott Cafe

If there are seafood and meat lovers in your group, the Marriott Cafe is a good place to check out. This Christmas, the cafe’s serving roast turkey with chestnut bread stuffing and a slow-cooked veal tongue with mushrooms, among others.

For seafood, they have everything from prawns and crayfish to mussels.

Dec. 1 to Dec. 30
From S$68++ for adult, and S$35 for child.

Edge

Serious seafood lovers ditching the turkey this year can opt for the Christmas buffet at the Edge restaurant, which is serving a smorgasbord of all sorts of ocean delights including Boston lobsters, Alaskan King crabs, and whiskey-glazed seafood bisques.

Decent meat options include honey-glazed gammon ham and oven-roasted tomahawk steak with herb and butter.

Mag’s Wine Kitchen

There’s a new modern French restaurant in town celebrating its first Christmas with a festive menu consisting of roast prime rib  (S$128++ per pax) and roast crackling pork (S$108++ per pax), among others. 

Be sure to try their appetizers while you’re at it: jamon serrano, Meredith goats cheese, melon and arugula, cured trout, mesclun and pickled onions – we say these are potential crowd-pleasers.

The Carvery

If you’ve never eaten beef aged with gin for 21 days, now is probably a good time to start. The Carvery at Park Hotel is whipping that up this Christmas, combining flavors of both the meat and the citrusy notes of Tanqueray 10.

Porta 

Holiday seasons are some of the best times to catch up with your significant other. 

Spend a romantic Christmas evening at the Porta restaurant over a four-course seafood and champagne dinner made up of juicy Hokkaido scallops, creamy poached Maine lobsters, a tender tomato black cod or braised beef tenderloin in red wine. There are three Cattier Champagne options to choose from.

The Deli

The Goodwood Park Hotel’s The Deli restaurant is serving a lot of pandan and kaya this Christmas. 

Their festive takeaway menu this year includes pandan scented roasted turkey with a side of kaya-flavored mantou buns and homemade chili sauce that serves up to 12 people and costs S$238.

 If you’re joining a potluck party, you might want to get the pack of six to 10 mantou sliders filled with turkey cooked with yam and pickled white onions.

 The Deli is also bringing back popular options like the Mao Shan Wang Durian Christmas Log Cake (S$78 for 500g) and their Slow Roasted Iberico Pork Belly with Crackling (S$348).

Available from Dec. 1 to Dec. 26.

Alkaff Mansion

Spice up your Christmas feasts this year with a Spanish spread at The Alkaff Mansion. Its TXA Pintxo Bar is serving, among others, roasted grain-fed pullet, chargrilled wagyu rump and chargrilled Iberico pork jowl – all of which can be ordered on one meat platter for S$88. 

What’s a Spanish meal without churros? They’re also serving the crispy dough treats with a side of spicy pecan chocolate dip too.
