Founded by the former head bartender of Smoke & Mirrors, which is also listed as one of our best rooftop bars in Singapore, The Elephant Room recently opened its doors inside a homey space atop the Michelin-starred restaurant Burnt Ends near Keong Saik Road.

Inspired by Singapore’s Little India and the unique experiences founder Yugnes “Yugi” Susela and team gained from the heritage-rich district, The Elephant Room promises a cocktail adventure through traditional Indian culture.

Its vibrant Sari-patterned menu book lists seven drinks that include Moghul’s Sweets, which is a mix of Indian single malt whiskey Amrut, salted cashew and roasted chickpeas, as well as Jothi’s Flower Shop,  which contains gin infused with fragrant jasmine flowers picked from the actual Jothi Store and Flower shop on Campbell Lane, and mixed with lime, honey and Davana herb extract — which has a fruit, grape-like aroma.

The Tekka cocktail is inspired by (you guessed it) Tekka Center, one of the landmarks of Little India. Served in an appealing yellow-hued glass, the drink mixes India’s iconic Old Monk Rum with spiced palm and banana skin.

It would be wrong not to mention Kamasutra. This cocktail is inspired by the renown art of love-making, which this aphrodisiac drink attempts to evoke using garlic wine, caramelized pomegranate and “kamasutra potion.”

All drinks cost at least S$22, excluding tax and service charge.
