Take a break from your hectic day in the CBD at this garden-themed cafe/floral studio

Ah, all the pretty flowers. At this garden-themed cafe and floral studio, you’ll be so surrounded by nature that you won’t even notice you’re in the CBD. Seriously, it’s a nice place to chill when you’ve had it up to here with work.

Shop Wonderland, previously at Haji Lane, has found its new home along Telok Ayer Street (just next to sandwich/salad cafe Sarnies). It’s a cosy, botanical-inspired space, one that’s filled with the lovely aroma of baked goods intermingling with the fresh scent of flowers.

The savoury menu is pretty limited — items include avocado and egg toast for brekkie and beef goulash, a veggie grain bowl and wraps for lunch — but the cakes are the main draw, anyway. Think prettily-decorated ones such as Earl Grey lavender, black sesame green tea, passionfruit white chocolate coconut and gula melaka avocado. Fluffy and moist, each cake has just the right amount of sweetness to go well with drink offerings like chai latte, peppermint mocha and the intriguing-sounding popcorn matcha latte.

Oh, and did we mention the maple bacon cinnamon tea cake? This one’s a must-try for all bacon lovers — it’s an interesting mix of sweet and salty, with a generous serving of candied bacon complementing the cake well.

And if you’re tempted by the flowers at the entrance, head upstairs to the floral studio and get a bouquet of your own.

Shop Wonderland is at 134 Telok Ayer St. Mon-Sat 8am-6pm.
