Stuff yourself with classic American staples — hotdogs, burgers, snacks, milkshakes and ice cream — at the newly revamped Broadway American Diner.
Previously known as Capitol Milk Bar, the all-American-themed restaurant located in the Arcade of The Capitol Kempinski on Stamford Road is now decked out with red leather booth seats, checkered flooring, tiled walls and neon lights.
The modern-day diner features a menu that includes hearty burgers such as the Pork Jowl Burger with pulled pork, coleslaw, green apples, arugula, Dijon mustard and smoky spicy ketchup, as well as their signature Broadway’s BBQ Beef Burger served with fried onion rings, smoky bacon, cheddar cheese and an apple butter barbecue sauce.
Pair the burgers with a choice of sides that include crispy potato skins served with chilli beef, sour cream and Colby cheese, or a plate of macaroni and cheese made with cheddar and parmesan cheese, green peas, crispy bacon and Mentaiko.
They also have saucy buffalo hot wings, marinated with a homemade hot sauce and served with celery sticks and blue cheese dip.
If you happen to have more space for dessert after all that, the restaurant also serves Belgian waffles and traditional American apple pie.
There is also French toast and ice cream sundaes topped with wafer sticks, cherries and chocolate and strawberry sauce.
Gulp it all down with drinks like root beer floats and milkshakes with Singaporean flavors like Chendol and Milo.
The restaurant is located at the extension of The Capitol Kempinski Hotel that also houses other restaurants that pay homage to the iconic Capitol Theatre, one of Singapore’s finest theatres in the 1930s.
The hotel is at the heart of Singapore’s Civic and Cultural District where the iconic Capitol Building and Stamford House have been restored.
