Whoo hoo, fans of Macs rejoice, ’cause there’s a sleek new McDonald’s at East Coast Park. Okay, it’s not totally new, but it is revamped and it just made its triumphant return over the weekend after a four-year hiatus. One of the largest McD’s in Singapore, the Marine Cove space spans over 8,000 sq ft and includes a McCafé counter, seven self-ordering stations, and salad and dessert bars.Seems like the fast food chain is going atas.
And since it’s located at such a family-friendly area, the facilities cater to the young and old alike. There’s a ‘shadow wall’, where kids can be entertained by watching their shadows transformed into McDonaldland characters like Grimace and Birdie whenever they walk past, as well as the Google Cardboard, for customers to experience unique details of the store on a 360-degree virtual tour. Wireless charging stations and pram parking are also available.

This spicy tortilla burger ($8.95) features an Angus beef patty piled high with melted cheese, guacamole, crunchy tortilla chips, tomatoes, onions, lettuce and spicy sauce. Only available at the Marine Cove outlet.For fried chicken fans, try the spicy chicken with apple slaw burger ($6.95) — it’s sprinkled with rocket leaves and a creamy black pepper sauce. Only available at the Marine Cove outlet.At the salad bar, you get to choose from Asian ($5.50), Caesar ($5.50) and Classic green ($3.90), and add-ons range from $0.60 to $1.20. This one’s the Asian salad of leafy greens, cherry tomatoes, pasta, corn, red apple slices and roasted sesame dressing.Adventure in a cone ($3.50) — vanilla ice cream topped with coconut flakes and strawberry sauce, served in a chocolate waffle cone. Available at the dessert bar, exclusive to Marine Cove. Also on the menu is the Summer Delight ($5.50) of chocolate-dipped vanilla soft serve with corn cereal and mixed berries in a waffle bowl. Or you can just customise your fave Macs dessert like sundaes or McFlurrys with toppings like salted caramel sauce, caramelised biscuits, brownie bites and more.Chicken mayo, white cheddar and spinach on light rye bread ($5.50), one of the six sandwiches at McCafé.Cheesy mushroom, tomato and onion on ciabatta ($5.50), exclusive to Marine Cove McCafé.
