Noorman Mubarak and his Indonesian wife prepare a cross-cultural reinterpretation of nasi lemak that showcases both Indonesian and Singaporean culinary influences. A rice dish that pairs rice, cooked in coconut milk, with a plethora of delectable ingredients, nasi lemak is a hearty staple that is native to this region. This culinary couple’s star dish is nasi lemak ayam taliwang, a marinated chicken dish that originates from the rustic Indonesian island of Lombok.
Noorman counts himself lucky to be married to such an adept chef, who also lends her finesse to the nasi lemak’s spicy sambal and the other accompaniments that one can choose. This popular eatery recently partnered with GrabFood, which helps despatch Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang orders to hungry patrons.
You can sample this unique dish only at Yishun Park Hawker Centre. If you don’t feel like making the trek to the north though, Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang is now on Grab Hawker Picks on the Grab app.
