On the heels of the Cinnamoroll takeover at Japanese-French cafe Kumoya comes another cutesy character: Miffy. The Dutch rabbit’s first pop-up cafe in Singapore (and Southeast Asia) runs from October till the end of the year, with a menu curated by food stylist Shirley Wong — famously known as Little Miss Bento — the one behind the adorably egg-citing dishes at the Gudetama Cafe.
Start off with truffle ($11.90), salted egg yolk ($11.90), nacho cheese ($10.90) or seaweed fries ($10.90) served in a cheery, yellow box, then move on to mains like seafood curry rice ($24.90), chicken katsu burger ($18.90), smoked duck cold pasta ($17.90), waffles with karaage chicken ($21.90) and more.
Equally adorable are the desserts, which include an orange-infused sponge cake ($16.90), yuzu mango parfait ($18.90), matcha azuki lava cake ($16.90), salted caramel cake ($15.90), and chocolate banana shibuya toast ($22.90).
For an Insta-worthy shot, get the orange soda ($14.90), which comes topped with cotton candy in the shape of none other than Miffy, or order the Belgium hot chocolate ($8.90) so you can stare lovingly at the floating Miffy marshmallow in the center of your drink.
But if you’re not a Miffy fan, well, most likely none of this will interest you.
As you nibble on food items that bear likeness to the little bunny, you’ll be surrounded by Miffy-themed decor elements covering the entire cafe space. And if you’d like to try your hand at reproducing Miffy dishes in the comfort of your own home, get the cookbook ($18.68) authored by Little Miss Bento.
Have a look at the dishes below at your own risk (you may or may not experience a cuteness overdose).
The Miffy Cafe is on from Oct 5-Dec 31, Tues-Thurs & Sun noon-9:30pm, Fri-Sat noon-10:30pm at Kumoya, 8 Jalan Klapa. Dishes range from $8.90-$24.90.
