When you pass by a McDonald’s tomorrow, don’t be surprised if you see people walking out the door with bags of shaker fries and savory pies. Oct. 4 is when the fast food chain launches what is billed as its first-ever savory pie, the creamy herb chicken pie ($1.80), packed with chicken, carrots, potatoes, peas, and mushrooms.
It’s probably not the most exciting thing McDonald’s has ever put out — we couldn’t help but notice netizens commenting about creations like pizza pie and curry pie from decades ago on the brand’s Facebook page when it asked the public to guess the flavor of its new savory pie. (Pizza pie definitely sounds like something we can get behind.) Mostly though, people just wanted the return of its popular chocolate pie that debuted earlier this year.

Anyway, a couple other items are making a comeback alongside the new chicken pie. There’s the Samurai burger (from $6.10) with beef or chicken, the roasted sesame and seaweed shaker fries (from $8.80/meal), and the Dinosaur McFlurry ($3). All these will be available after breakfast hours at all outlets and via McDelivery from Oct 4 onwards.
