A popular old-school candy is launching its ice cream at an exclusive pop-up in a heritage cafe.

White Rabbit, a chewy Shanghai milk candy wrapped in edible rice paper, is coming in ice cream form to a temporary spot at the Chin Mee Chin Confectionery from Friday through Sept. 11.

The ice cream was previously sold in loli sticks last year and now comes in a 70-gram cup. It is made with fresh milk and cream, and the brand says the new recipe is “even softer,” “more luscious,” and tastes exactly like its candy.

The cafe will offer a limited-time set menu (S$9.50) consisting of kaya toast, eggs, a drink, and a cup of the new ice cream. Besides stuffing yourselves, peruse official White Rabbit merchandise such as mugs, pillows, umbrellas, and canvas bags available for purchase.

Founded in the 1920s and recently revamped, Chin Mee Chin Confectionery is famed for its traditional baking techniques and delectable pastries.

The ice cream will also go on sale Sunday at select FairPrice and FairPrice Xpress supermarkets and FairPrice Online for S$5.50 per cup. There is a one-for-one promotion running till Sept. 21, while stocks last.

No rabbits were harmed in the making of this ice cream.
