Just a week after underground club Mao officially opens at kyo’s former CBD space, new nightclub Avry will fling open its doors at Millenia Walk. A two-in-one concept, the 6,000 sq ft space is home to a cocktail bar called Hairy Canary during the evening, followed by a thumping nightclub when night falls.
Some of Avry’s features — we’ll leave you to decide whether they sound crazy awesome or kinda tacky — include a Dom Perignon VIP lounge booth (apparently the first of its kind in the region), an 11m-long bar, four oversized “birdcage” VIP areas, a 3m-wide DJ booth, LED screens, and 16 VIP tables around the dance floor (so your every move can be watched).
The avian-themed club, whose name came from the saying, “birds of a feather flock together”, cost a cool couple million to set up, and it’s aiming for a crowd of working professionals and fans of dance music.
As for its evening-time cousin Hairy Canary, there’ll be a selection of beers, wines and cocktails on offer, as well as bar snacks, should you get the drunken munchies.
Avry officially opens on Dec 15 at #02-02 Millenia Walk, 9 Raffles Blvd. Avry is open Wed, Fri & Sat, Hairy Canary is open Mon-Sat 6pm-midnight.
