Those feasting on European cuisine at Level33 will now have the option of trying the restaurant’s very own gin apart from its variety of craft beers.
The restaurant, located on the 33rd floor of Marina Bay Financial Center Tower One and housing its own brewery, has collaborated with Singapore’s Brass Lion Distillery to produce a gin available exclusively there.
The Level33 Hopped Dry Gin by Brass Lion is a combination of Brass Lion’s well-known Singapore Dry Gin and Citra hops, which are used in beer-making. Hops are the cone-shaped flowers of a plant known as Humulus lupulus and contain acids and oils that give a beer’s bitterness while also helping to stabilize its flavor.
The Citra Hop is said to be the most citrusy and aromatic hop and was only introduced to the beer world about a decade ago.
Mix that with the Singapore Dry Gin, which uses local herbs and spices such as galangal, kaffir lime leaves, and lemongrass, you get gin rich with refreshing flavors.
The Level33 Hopped Dry Gin by Brass Lion can be ordered as a Gin and Tonic at S$29.50 or neat. A standard pour costs S$21 while a Gentleman’s Pour – which refers to free pouring where the bartender does not use a measure – costs S$35.50. You can also order a 500ml bottle for S$220, which is actually cheaper when you buy it to take home, at S$160.
If you’d like a 50ml bottle as a gift, that’s S$20. All prices exclude service charges and taxes.
