Somehow, our obsession with bubble tea never dies. Sure, it may go through highs and lows, and turn up in experimental concoctions like boozy blends, cheese tea, and what not, but the fact remains the same. Bubble tea is here to stay, and it will never stop evolving.
The latest craze, which seems to have originated from Taiwanese night markets, is bubble tea toast. Just picture this: crispy slices of bread stuffed with chewy tapioca pearls, drizzled with a variety of saccharine sweet sauces.
And now it has made its way to Singapore.
Here it is for you to ogle at.
Here’s another shot of it in all its gooey glory.
Part of the “overflowing series” on the menu of Orchard cafe Benjamin Browns — which made viral fame a couple years back for its OTT (over the top) milkshakes — the bubble tea toast set ($6.90) comes in flavors like Ovaltine, Crunchie, and Caramel Lotus, alongside other new additions like milo avocado coffee shake ($14) and dirty sakura matcha or chocolate ($5.90) drinks.
If you’d like a shot of that for your Instagram feed, by all means, head over to Forum the Shopping Mall for a sugary coma-inducing lunch.
