This one goes out to those who would rather get tipsy at a venue of Singaporean pride and joy: hawker centers.

Formally known as 3rd Culture Brewing, Ren Min (“people,” in Mandarin), nestled between the Maxwell and Old Airport Road food centers, has launched a new line of beers brewed in Sicily, Italy.

The beerhouse collaborated with partners from Italy and South Korea to concoct its first run of beers. They are Aerodrome (4.7% ABV), a tropical fruity citrus ale fermented with Norwegian farmhouse yeast, Progression (6.2% ABV), a malty American pale ale with hints of nutmeg and black pepper, and Eureka (4.8% ABV), a dry but refreshing, citrusy farmhouse ale brewed with fresh orange peel and pink peppercorns. They come on tap and in bottles starting at S$11.

They also have a range of imported beers such as Korea Pale Ale from South Korea, Idaho 7 from Australia and Hopocalypse Hazy Double IPA from the United States.

Their 4-year-old Maxwell stall is now called Welcome Ren, and the Old Airport Road outpost is Hello Ren Min.

The brewery is building a brewery in Sembawang that is set to begin producing by the end of the year. Its next batch of brews, from Vietnam, is expected next month.

Ren Min was founded in 2016 at Maxwell and opened at Old Airport Road two years later.
