A new contender has emerged on Bukit Pasoh Road to raise the craft cocktail bar.

After initially opening in September, Beats Bites & Cocktails is now in full swing with tipples and bar bites, most of which are prepared with homegrown ingredients before customers in its garden located behind the 50-seater indoor lounge where resident DJ Shigeki Ito spins.

The cocktails are a treat to both the eyes and taste buds. The Cane & Caffeine (S$22) features a blend of dark rum, coffee, red wine, and bitters Campari and Select, topped with candied grapefruit peel dipped in dark chocolate. The Ice Kachang (S$22), named after the well known local dessert, is made with pineapple rum, herbal liqueurs Green Chartreuse and Pimento Dram, the super sour Supasawa mixer, cranberry tea and grilled pineapple spiced syrup topped with shaved ice. The Purple Rain (S$25) is made with gin infused with hibiscus and butterfly pea, Supasawa foam, elderflower liqueur with berry, and citrus-flavored smoke trapped in a bubble. Wines, sakes, ciders and teas are also available.

Their open kitchen houses a charcoal and wood oven to make dishes like their Bertha Ash Biscuits (S$8), which are served with Foie Gras marinated with longan-honey miso, and the Nambanzuke (S$14), which is made with creamy eggplant, carrot and Japanese radish. Then there’s the Tontoro Pork Cheek (S$12), which pairs pork with pickled garlic and sesame ponzu.
