A carpark in Bedok will be transformed into an arts street carnival this weekend

Public spaces — even carparks — can be cool, too. This weekend, a carpark in the heartlands will be turned into an arts festival/street carnival that’s totally family-friendly and completely free. Drop by for performances by dance group Lil’ Wings and music ensemble Ocarina House, as well as local music acts LGF Band, Motus.sg, and Tim De Cotta and The Rock Warriors. Then walk through eco-art installation ‘Faces of Facades’, an interactive art display by Jennifer Ng, and a colourful labyrinth AMAZESWING by LOPELAB.

As for workshops, a DIY silkscreen tote bag one will be running all day. You can also participate in a 3D zoetrope animation session or a U-Jam fitness dance workout at 4pm. Little ones will get to enjoy the Imagination Playground, which is filled with huge building blocks, or the kampong games corner featuring giant versions of old school games like Snakes and Ladders or Pick-up Sticks.

Art in Construction is on Nov 19, 4pm-7.30pm at carpark behind Bedok Sports Complex, 3 Bedok North St 2. Free.
