Content creator and travel vlogger Drew Binsky revealed in a video posted yesterday that his favorite country — out of the over 140 he’s visited — is the Philippines.
Similar to Nuseir Yassin aka Nas Daily who called the Philippines the “most lovable country” last month, Binsky said that he has “discovered one country that truly has it all.”
Binsky shared that the Philippines has unlimited beaches with over 7,641 islands to choose from, palm trees and active volcanoes. Featured on the video is the perfect cone Mayon Volcano and the Philippines’ famous white sand beaches.
“When it comes to friendliness, you will hardly ever meet a dishonest or rude Filipino. They’re always so happy, so smiley and so welcoming,” he shared with footage of locals he has met.
One girl says: “Everyone can speak fluent English!”
Binsky also talks about some Filipino favorites, including Jollibee, sinigang — a hot and sour stew with local vegetables, and halo-halo — shaved ice with coconut jelly, leche flan, and fruits.
“I can say with certainty that the Philippines lives up to its punchline of ‘It’s more fun in the Philippines,'” he says, urging his followers to go and experience the country for themselves.
In the video, Binsky also addresses concerns some travelers might have about the Philippines. “Whatever you heard on the news about the Philippines being unsafe is false.”
The video now has over 369,000 views and 6,200 shares as of posting. Locals and tourists alike have also left positive comments.
Facebook user Vira Glushchenko wrote: “We’re going to Philippines in 10 days, can’t wait!”
“Proud Filipino here. And as I travel to some other countries, I still love my home country, Philippines, and yes, we all have it all. Thanks Drew,” said Edna Sotomayor.
Julie Joy said it was an uplifting video for Filipinos affected by the recent floods caused by Tropical Storm Karding: “I would also add ‘the most resillient (sic) people coping with endless typhoons, floods, earthquakes and cycles of corrupt glib-talking presidents.’ Just mho (sic) of course. I love this vid. Luv my country. Thank you, Drew Binsky! You just did a must-needed boost to the morale of Filipinos coping with the most recent flood.”
