Traffic buildup expected in QC, Ortigas due to road repairs, event

Road repairs and a school event may cause heavy traffic in some roads in Metro Manila this weekend.

Some roads in Quezon City will be repaired and re-blocked by the Department of Public Works and Highways starting Fri (Feb 3) night until 5:00 a.m. Mon, Feb 6, which may cause traffic to build up in the city.

The affected roads are as follows:

SOUTHBOUND:
Along Mindanao Ave., before Tandang Sora (1 lane occupied),
Along Commonwealth Ave., from Don Jose St. to San Simon St. (1 lane occupied), and
Along Quirino Highway, from Arceli St. to Mindanao Avenue (1 lane occupied).

WESTBOUND:
Along Congressional Avenue, extension fronting Shell-Mirana Gate (1 lane occupied).

The westbound section of Ortigas Ave. in front of La Salle Greenhills may be congested from 3 p.m. onwards on Saturday due to a school homecoming event.

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) also warned motorists to steer clear of Kalentong in Mandaluyong on Feb 9, Thu, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., due to the Pasa-Masid Grand Civic Parade.
