Tondo boy killed during drinking spree

A 17-year-old boy was killed at a drinking session in Tondo on Sunday evening.

Mark Derly Lorbes of Smokey Mountain in Tondo, Manila was declared dead on arrival at Mary Johnston Hospital after being shot in the stomach at close range. Police are still investigating the incident.

Lorbes’s brother Kenneth told police he dropped by a neighbor’s house where Lorbes and three friends were drinking. He said he was told to buy ice at a nearby neighborhood store but had not gone far when he heard a shot. He ran back and found his brother on the floor and his drinking companions running away.

Police have arrested one suspect while two more suspects, Jayson and Buboy, are in hiding, Abante reports.

Under the law, minors are not allowed to buy and consume alcohol.
