The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) today confirmed that a third Filipino worker has tested positive for COVID-19 in Singapore.
According to the DFA’s bulletin, the Filipino worker was diagnosed on Monday, four days after the second Filipino patient in the city-state was confirmed.
Singapore’s Health Ministry noted that the 34-year-old Filipina lives in the same household as the 41-year-old Filipina who was the second Filipino case in Singapore, and works for the same 61-year-old Singaporean employer who also tested positive for the virus.
The two Filipinas and their employer are receiving treatment in separate isolation rooms at the Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.

The DFA also confirmed the Singaporean Health Ministry’s announcement that the first Filipino worker in the city-state to contract the virus has recovered, and was discharged from the hospital on Saturday.
“The [Philippine] Embassy is in close coordination with the Ministry of Health (MOH) of Singapore and stands ready to extend assistance to the COVID-19-positive Filipino nationals as needed,” it added.
To date, while no Filipinos have been found to have contracted the virus in the Philippines, the number of Filipino workers who have contracted the virus overseas is now at 87: 80 from the Diamond Princess cruise ship, two from Hong Kong, two from the United Arab Emirates, and now three from Singapore.
