The P42.9-M lotto jackpot has four winners

Amid news of the Omicron variant spreading like wildfire and the presidential elections fast approaching, four people are having a fantastic start to 2022 after they hit the nearly P43-million jackpot of the 6/42 lottery, according to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.

Two bettors from Makati City, one in Pampanga, and another in Cavite guessed the winning combination of 23-01-09-24-12-07 that was drawn on Thursday—winning a cool P42,945,708.20.

That said, don’t expect them to take home the entire prize in full—lotto winnings of more than PHP10,000 shall be subject to a 20 percent final tax, according to the TRAIN law.

Meanwhile, 120 bettors who guessed five out of the six winning combinations won P24,000 each, while 3,418 individuals received P800 for guessing four of the winning combinations. That said, 40,215 also won P20 each for getting three winning combinations.

To claim their prizes, winners may head to the PCSO main office in Mandaluyong City and present the winning ticket, as well as two valid IDs.

In case you’re hoping to become the next big winner, stay tuned: the 6/42 lottery is drawn every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
