‘Temptation Island’ actress, daughter caught in Quezon City drug bust

A star of the 1980 cult hit Temptation Island and her daughter were caught in a drug bust operation in Quezon City yesterday morning.

Former actress Deborah Sun, whose real name is Louise Porcuna Salvador, was arrested in a sting at her eighth-floor condominium unit in Barangay (village) E. Rodriguez by the Quezon City Police District and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. Authorities also arrested her 45-year-old daughter Angela Salvador along with two men named Gerald De Guzman, 53, and Gonzalo Gonzales, 49, according to Abante Tonite.

The suspects were caught after De Guzman allegedly handed methamphetamine to an undercover agent pretending to be a customer. Seized from the suspects was… one gram of meth worth PHP6,800 (US$131.08), reported Diaryo Bomba. Not exactly the bust of the century.

Angela allegedly tried to evade arrest by entering a neighbor’s unit through their window, reported Pep.ph. Their neighbors, all of whom were students, were surprised to see Angela and reported her presence to the condominium’s security staff, which led to her arrest.

Authorities said they conducted the drug bust after receiving information that the suspects were selling drugs from their condo unit.

The group will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In addition to her own acting career, Sun is the sister of former action star and Duterte ally Philip Salvador, and the cousin of actress Maja Salvador.

Update: A previous version of this article said that Sun is the niece of Philip Salvador. They are, in fact, siblings.
