A 15-year-old girl miraculously missed death after being hit by a speeding train in Tondo, Manila.

The horrifying CCTV footage shows that the girl was opening an umbrella seconds before the train approached. She fell and was dragged for about 5 meters before the train stopped, ABS-CBN News reports.

People in the area rushed to check on the condition of the victim.

“I really thought she was dead. There are a lot of people who get hit by the train in this area and most of them die,” said the victim’s mother who witnessed the incident.

Miraculously, the girl only sustained minor injuries on her head, legs, and back.

Police authorities believe that the victim was listening to music with earphones when the incident happened, but the girl and her mother insisted that she just didn’t hear the train approaching.

The victim will not be filing a case against the train driver.
