We’re sexy, and now we know it.
Giving Filipinos some bragging rights on Tinder is travel website Big 7, which just named Filipino the third sexiest nationality in the world in a ranking released on Friday.
It was based on responses from 1.5 million social media users who were free to define what “sexy” means to them. There is no other information about how the survey was conducted so, as if it weren’t obvious enough, take this with a grain of salt.
On the top of the list is Ukranian and in second place is Danish. The Philippines even ranks one notch higher than supermodel-land Brazil.

At the very bottom, at number 50 is Irish. Americans didn’t fare well either and are ranked number 45.
“The United States has a hugely diverse population, making it hard to pinpoint what an ‘American’ looks like. Some might say Britney Spears, others think of Donald Trump,” the study explains.
Hard to argue with that logic.
The study also attempted to explain why Filipinos ranked so high, saying it’s probably because of famous Pinoys like our beauty pageant queens, Bruno Mars, and even boxer and Senator Manny Pacquiao.
But why stop there, Big 7? There are so many other international Filipino celebrities, albeit less famous, who also fit the bill like Kelsey Merritt, the first Filipina to walk the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, and The Good Place‘s Manny Jacinto who Queer Eye’s Tan France has called “the most handsome man on television right now.”
What more verification do you need?
Of course, the high ranking could also just be credited to Filipinos, one of the most social media-active people in the world, who take every chance they get to declare their #PinoyPride.
The Filipino accent also ranked high in Big 7’s previous survey of sexiest accents in the world, sitting at 21st overall and number one in Asia.
