At around 11:02am on Thu, Apr 23, fire broke out at iconic The Original Savory Restaurant along Escolta Street in Manila. At that time, the blaze damaged mostly the ground floor of the establishment. The fire was declared out at 12:58pm.

It was later revealed that the fire started from the exhaust fan of the restaurant’s kitchen.
Many people said they were heartbroken, as the restaurant had been around since 1950 and many families had celebrated their milestones there.
At around 4:20am on Fri, as ABS-CBNnews.com reported, fire broke out anew at Savory. It was declared under control at 5:58am.
In the latest fire, it was the 65-year-old building’s second floor that got burned. Bureau of Fire Protection personnel are still investigating the origin of the second blaze.
The damage is estimated to be at PHP25 million.
