PHP1.2M worth of meth allegedly seized from pair of Pasay students

Two students in their 20s from Pasay City were arrested in Ermita, Manila early this morning after police allegedly found an estimated PHP1.2 million (US$23,758) worth of meth in their possession.

Police Lt. Col. Bernard Pagaduan said that a drug suspect they arrested from Meycauayan, Bulacan had pointed to the two unnamed students, aged 21 and 22, as his accomplices, Remate reports.

Authorities posed as drug buyers and allegedly seized about 200 grams of meth from the students in the operation, Bombo Radyo reports.

The suspects were brought to Meycauayan Police Station, according to ABS-CBN News.

They will be facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. If convicted, they could be jailed for up to 20 years.
