A homeless man died today after falling from a height onto the tracks of the MRT-3 in Makati City.
Police identified the 21-year-old victim as Mas Sandamon, of Marang Sumisip in Basilan province. Sandamon reportedly died instantly from head injuries, which he sustained in the fall onto the tracks, The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported.
The MRT-3 tweeted at 12:16pm that the man fell between Buendia and Ayala stations in Makati — apparently from a high wall beside the tracks, visible in photos from the scene — leading the train system to suspend its operations from 12:16pm to 2:47pm. Authorities are still investigating the victim’s background.
As of 3pm today, MRT-3 authorities announced that operations had returned to normal, with all 13 trains running.
