A man was stabbed to death by a fellow homeless garbage scavenger earlier today after they had a disagreement on who should sleep on a makeshift bed located underneath a bridge in Quezon City.

The victim, Danny Abalos, 34, was stabbed with a kitchen knife by 62-year-old Baltazar Padti III, said Randy Estacio, an employee of the Kamuning Police Station 10 told Coconuts Manila.

The two men had an argument on Tuesday night over who should sleep on the makeshift bed that was placed underneath the Kamuning Flyover on EDSA, Abalos’ partner Jakelyn Bukas told Unang Balita. Bukas said they slept at that spot because it was raining last night.

While the couple was asleep, Padti allegedly attacked the victim at around 3:45am today, Estacio said.

Padti alelgedly hit Abalos with a piece of wood then stabbed him with a kitchen knife near his chest. The victim died at the crime scene and the suspect fled. However, cops and village officials were able to locate and arrest Padti on Scout Tuazon cor. Timog Ave., also in Quezon City.

The suspect is now in the custody of the cops.

Bukas said she is worried about her three children whom she now has to support all by herself. She’s also worried about how to pay for her late partner’s funeral expenses, reported ABS-CBN News.
