A man arrested in a warehouse in Isabela, in the northern Philippines, is charged with the crime of murder after police say he decapitated his girlfriend.
The suspect Erick Sampaga and his live-in partner Mary Ann Colobong were having a heated argument inside their makeshift home in a cemetery in Isabela on Sunday, reports the Philippine Star.
In the middle of the argument, Sampaga turned violent and attacked the victim. Witnesses say that Sampaga used a large single-edged knife.
Colobong’s headless body was found by the police on top of a tomb and her severed head inside a mausoleum.
“Sampaga owned up to the killing, saying he got irked during their quarrel because the victim had allegedly been blaming him for their failure to bear a child,” reports Manila Bulletin.
