“Bikoy,” the anonymous source in the controversial Ang Totoong Narco List (The Real Narco List) video series has come forward — or at least a man who says it was him did.
A man named Peter Jomel Advincula appeared before the media at the Integrated Bar of the Philippines in Pasig City earlier today and said that he is Bikoy. He was there to seek legal assistance from lawyers, Rappler reported.
He said he wants to file a case against presidential son and former Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, former presidential aide and senatorial candidate Christopher “Bong” Go, and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte’s husband Manases Carpio — the three men he accused of benefitting from the illegal drug trade in the controversial videos.
Bikoy, who says he is a former drug syndicate member, makes the allegations in the videos while his face is hidden in the shadows.
In the press conference today, Advincula insisted on his allegation that Paolo and Go have dragon tattoos on their backs, CNN Philippines reported. The tattoo is allegedly a symbol that proves the two are members of a drug syndicate.
Go has revealed his back to the public to show that he does not have any tattoos but Paolo refuses to show his back.
Advincula denied any connections to election candidates or political parties, The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported. Last week, a man named Rodel Jayme was arrested for creating a website that shared the Ang Totoong Narco List videos. He denied posting the videos himself but said that he was asked to create the website by supporters of the opposition Liberal Party.
Today, Advincula denied that he worked with Jayme. He also mentioned that he did not have any connections to the media personalities and organizations accused of sharing the videos as part of an alleged plot to oust the president.
Advincula said he came forward because he has allegedly been receiving death threats and because he was bothered by his conscience. He also said that he’s ready for the Senate to probe him so he can prove that his allegations in the videos are true, Philippine Star reported.
Duterte has denied the allegations in the Ang Totoong Narco List videos. Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo also said that the videos are black propaganda used against the government.
