Makeup artist from QC loses valuables to Grindr date

It’s not always safe to step inside a stranger’s car, even if that stranger looks cute on his profile pic in an online dating app.

Makeup artist Kit Lemuel Tubera lost nearly PHP50,000 worth of valuables when he met up with his Grindr date in Quezon City on Sun, Inquirer reports. 

Grindr is a dating app which allows men to meet other men.

The 23-year-old victim initially sat in front of the suspect’s car but was asked by the suspect to move to the backseat. 

Tubera went out to transfer when the suspect fled off, taking with him the victim’s cell phones and gadgets worth more than PHP35,000, a makeup kit worth PHP10,000 and PHP1,400 in cash.

The suspect was driving a white Honda City. Investigations into the incident are still ongoing.
