For Jeff Horn, seeing Manny Pacquiao train diligently ahead of their welterweight title clash in Brisbane on July 2 is a sign the reigning world titlist respects his Australian foe.
“It’s always nice to hear that they’re finally taking me a bit more seriously, not coming here for an easy $10 million, knock me over and think about the next fight,” said Horn in The Sydney Morning Herald.
He acknowledged it gets tiring to read reports about Pacquiao’s plans after Horn as if he were overlooking him.
“That’s all I see on the Internet – what’s Manny’s next fight,” Horn said, although he knows his place.
“I’m a challenger, I’m not the title holder. He deserves the respect and the majority of the attention,” Horn said.
Horn, who is undefeated, said Pacquiao might think twice about getting in the ring again after their bout. “He mightn’t want to fight again,” he said.
