People living in the National Capital Region and in other major cities are spoiled for choice when it comes to vaccination centers. This is not the case for those in deep rural areas, however, where going to the nearest vaccination hub might take half a day’s travel.

In Cotabato City, vaccines are now being brought to geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas, or GIDA (yes, there’s an official term for it) via the Bakuna Bus, a mobile vaccination facility run by the city health office.

“The Bakuna Bus of the City Government of Cotabato safely and successfully administered first doses of Covid-19 vaccines today, August 12, 2021,” the Cotabato City Health Office posted in Filipino on its Facebook page.

Vaccines are currently being administered to Priority Groups A1, A2, and A3, with 25,242 individuals so far being fully vaccinated.
