He tried to hide the evidence, but alas, it was not his day.

A man believed to be an employee of radio station DZBB was arrested yesterday at a checkpoint in the village of Loyola Heights in Quezon City after two sachets of suspected meth were found in his possession, one of which he swallowed.

Yum!

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said on its Facebook page today that several cops saw suspect Baron Giovani Belison having an argument with another male motorist at about 11:30am yesterday on Aurora Boulevard. Belison was onboard a Nissan Frontier that sported the logos of media company “GMA” and “DZBB 594 KHZ.”

Cops who saw the confrontation approached the two men with the intention of pacifying them. However, Belison revved up his engine to escape the authorities but the cops blocked his path.

“Belison was initially asked for his driver’s license when police saw two (2) transparent plastic sachets of suspected methamphetamine from his possession,” the police report said. “The suspect swallowed one of the two (2) sachets in an apparent attempt to conceal the items but one of the policemen was able to seize the other sachet which contained around 0.2 grams of suspected meth.”

The suspect was arrested and was brought to the Anonas Police Station. He will be charged with Reckless Driving and for violating Article 2 Section 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 1972.

Meanwhile, DZBB said in a Tweet that despite driving their van, Belison is not their employee but was hired by a “third-party supplier” of GMA.

In addition, Script, the GMA subsidiary which hired Belison, said in a statement sent to The Philippine Daily Inquirer that they will conduct random drug tests “among its drivers and those who will be found positive, will be imposed with severe disciplinary action, which may even lead to termination.”
