Desperate people do unthinkable things.
On Wed morning, Nov 9, a fetus was found inside the Chapel of Candles of the St. William Cathedral in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
“Flower vendor Lolita Agruda had noticed a plastic bag inside the chapel. When she looked inside it, she saw a fetus wrapped in adult diaper. She then called the police to report the incident,” reports Denis Agcaoili on ABS-CBN News Online.
The report noted: “Agruda said she didn’t know who left the fetus, but her fellow vendors reportedly saw a woman who entered the chapel carrying a plastic bag.”
Agruda related, “Hindi ko nakita talaga pero sabi nila, may nakita silang babae na pumasok na may hawak na bag. Nang lumabas siya, may apat na babae na sumunod na pumasok sa chapel. Nang lumabas sila, kasabay na nilang umalis ng simbahan ang naunang babae.”
(“I didn’t see who left the bag but they said they saw a woman enter the chapel with a plastic bag. Four other women entered the chapel after her. They then left the chapel together.”)
According to a doctor, the fetus was female, between seven to eight months old. The police report said the fetus may have been aborted. The fetus was baptized before being buried at the Catholic cemetery.
